Laramie Co. resident contracts ‘rare’ bacterial infection

Health officials say a patient at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center has a rare bacterial infection. The Wyoming Department of Health says the infection in the Laramie County resident is resistant to antibiotics and wasn’t contracted at the hospital. Health officials say the patient has a gene found in persons in only a handful of states over the past few years. The patient is reportedly responding to treatment and is in good condition.
