Suspect Surrenders In Laramie Arson

The suspect in an Albany County Republican Headquarters arson last month has surrendered to police. Federal agents offered a $5,000 reward for the arrest of 27-year-old Kellen Sorber who disappeared after investigators tried to get a DNA sample at the Laramie business where he worked. No one was hurt in the fire.

Woman Arrested For Attempted Theft In Cheyenne

A woman is arrested for trying to stealing a victim’s truck at Laramie County Community College on Wednesday. Police say 23-year-old Talia Poafpybitty who lives in Oklahoma used a knife to threaten the victim but they got out of the vehicle taking the keys with then. Poafpybitty then took off but was found later at a nearby Walmart where she was arrested.

Yellowstone Entrances Close Monday

Most entrances to Yellowstone National Park will close Monday at 8:00 a.m. for the winter. The road from the North entrance at Gardiner, Mont., to Mammoth Hot Springs in the park will remain open. The winter season including snowmobile and snowcoach travel starts Dec. 15.

Environmentalists applaud federal court overturning WY ‘ag-gag’ law

A law that forbids environmentalists from documenting damage to streams and grasslands due to livestock grazing has been declared unconstitutional. A federal judge ruled the law violates the free speech rights. Gov. Matt Mead says the state will evaluate next steps. Environmental groups and a photographers association who sued over the law are applauding the ruling.

2 separate illegal poaching cases being investigated

Two cases of poaching are under investigation in southeast Wyoming. Game wardens say a buck mule deer was shot from the road on deeded land earlier this month. The suspects drove a light silver or white Ford F-150 pick-up truck. Separately a bull elk was shot and abandoned on Highway 34 near Wheatland. The bull elk was shot two times, but no meat was taken.

Elderly hiker goes missing near Rock Springs

An elderly hiker is missing in southwest Wyoming. Terry Meador never returned from a hunt on October 25th. His truck was found south of Rock Springs. A large-scale searched is planned for Meador this weekend.

Search Continues For Missing Rock Springs Man

The search continues in Sweetwater County for a missing 74-year-old man last seen while hunting last week. Police say Terry Meador was reported missing last week and authorities say he was likely hunting alone. Searchers found his pickup truck near Rock Springs and the vehicle was badly stuck.

City Council Candidate Arrested For Child Porn

An Evanston city council candidate is arrested for child pornography. Police say Maurizio Mariotti had been under investigation since springtime when the victim who is now an adult came forward. A search warrant was executed Tuesday at Mariotti’s home. He had been running for a four-year term as Ward 3 councilperson.

30 Cars Fired At In South Cheyenne

Over two-and-a half dozen cars were vandalized in south Cheyenne last week. Police say the shooter was using a BB gun and was driven around a neighbood where they opened fire on the parked vehicles. It happened last Wednesday between 9:00 p.m. and midnight. Call police if you know of the shooter’s whereabouts.

WY man re-sentenced in shooting death in Cheyenne

A Wyoming man will spend 35 years behind bars for murder. 20-year-old Phillip Sam was re-sentenced Monday for the 2014 shooting death of 19-year-old Tyler Burns. Witnesses say Burns begged for his life when he was shot in the head at point-blank range at a park in Cheyenne. The state’s highest court had overturned Sam’s original sentence of 52 years in prison, since sentencing juveniles to life in prison without parole is unconstitutional.
